Six killed as lorry capsizes

Visakhapatnam, Apr 22 (UNI) Six people were killed and four others injured when their lorry loaded with sand overturned near Mangamuritota in Bheemunipatnam Mandal about 20 km from here today.

Police said the accident occurred when the lorry driver was negotiating a curve on a tank bund, with the tank on one side and agricultural field on the other. The vehicle fell onto the fields, burying the six alive under the sand. They had loaded sand from a riverbed nearby. The lorry was on it way from Boyapalem to K Nagarapalem.

All the deceased belonged to Paradesipalem village.

The injured were admitted to Bheemunipatnam hospital, police added.
