Sandip Acharya is Indian Idol number 2

Mumbai, Apr 22 (UNI) Sandip Acharya was crowned Indian Idol number 2 at a glittering function here this evening.

Sandip walked away with a Maruti Balleno and a Rs one crore contract with Sony BMG.

The three-member jury comprising Sonu Nigam, Farah Khan and Anu Mallick declared Sandip as the Indian Idol in the presence of celebrity guest Kajol.

Indian Idol number 1 Abhijit Sawant applauded Sandip's selection by gifting him a guitar. The tone for the evening was set by a live video performance by Alisha Chinai whose ''Kajrare'' had the audience swinging.
