Pramod Mahajan shot at in Mumbai

Mumbai Apr 22 : Senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan was shot at in Mumbai this morning. He was shot by his brother Praveen in regard to a family dispute.

Sources say he sufferred four bullets shot from a close distance. One near the throat and three on right side of the chest. He is presently undergoing operation at Hinduja hospital in Mumbai. His condition is said to be critical.

The attack happened inside Pramod Mahajan's house. Family sources claim that he is out of danger but doctors are yet to comment on Pramod Mahajan's condition.

Lok Sabha Speaker, Somnath Chatterjee expressed shock on hearing about the incident. Senior BJP leader L K Advani has already left for Mumbai. Other BJP leaders and workers are already present at Pramod Mahajan's house.

Immediately after the incident, his brother Praveen Mahajan surrendered at the Worli police station. He has been booked under section 307 for attempt of murder.
