Mahajan: Police cordons off building at Thane

Thane, Apr 22: Even as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers thronged the Worli residence and Hinduja Hospital, where Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Pramod Mahajan is battling with three bullets still embedded in his body, an errie silence prevailed at the Thane residence of Mr Mahajan's brother Pravin, who shot at the former from his revolver.

Pravin's neighbours in the 'Jinja Apartments' here were not even aware of the incident till a posse of police personnel and the media arrived.

The police immediately cordoned off the multi-storyed building, keping the visitors and the even the media at bay.

While the local police took position inside the building, which also houses commercial establishments, a team of SRP parked themselves outside.

The media, particularly the electronic, made frentic efforts to get a few bytes from the neighbours on the background of Pravin Mahajan, but failed with none of them willing to speak.

Pravin Majahan, who has twins--a boy and a girl-- has been staying in the building for the past 15 years.
