Pergo 'floors' customers with design centres

Chennai, Apr 22: Pergo India Private Limited, the Indian arm of the Swedish-based wooden laminate flooring major Pergo, proposes to open 60 sales and design centres in India during 2006-07.

Announcing this at a press conference after opening its 14th design centre here, Pergo India CEO K R Shivshankar said it will set up an additional 11 centres before the year taking the total to 25 in the country.

Pergo India will launch 50 more centres during 2006-07. Each centre cost Rs five lakh, excluding real estate.

Mr Shivshakar claimed Pergo was the only company to give a written guarantee for its products, which were priced between Rs 90 to Rs 270 per sq ft, depending on the design and quality. Besides, it offered over 50 decors for the customers to choose.

He also announced the unveiling of an exclusive showroom, which was supported by Pergo's unique technology-driven software.

''This will help coordinating Pergo wooden laminate flooring designs and customers could choose a room, change the colour of the walls, upholstery, flooring decor and even visualise how exactly the room will look,'' he said.
