Govt to encourage leather industry

Kohima, Apr 22: Nagaland Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Minister Thenucho has said the government has taken initiative to boost leather industry.

Inaugurating a Farmers' meet at Dimapur Central Dairy (DCD) yesterday, Mr Thenucho said the department was preparing a project report and submit it to the union industry ministry for promotion of leather industry.

He said the state produces a large number of animal prodcuts and export them to other states as it has no such infrastructure like tanneries.
