Nagaland govt to encourage growth of leather industry

Kohima, Apr 22 (UNI) Nagaland Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Minister Thenucho has said the government has taken initiative to boost leather industry.

Inaugurating a Farmers' meet at Dimapur Central Dairy (DCD) yesterday, Mr Thenucho said the department was preparing a project report and submit it to the union industry ministry for promotion of leather industry.

He said the state produces a large number of animal prodcuts and export them to other states as it has no such infrastructure like tanneries.
