Mahajan critical, but doctors doing their best: Advani

Mumbai, Apr 22: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani, who visited critically wounded Pramod Mahajan at the Hinduja hospital a shortwhile ago and spent 15 minutes there, said doctors are doing their best.

''The first important job was to stop the blood loss from the body, which has been successfully done,'' Mr Advani said.

''I can understand the anxiety of the people over the condition of Mr Mahajan, which,'' he said, doctors told him ''was critical.'' He added the best possible treatment is being ensured and ''we all pray that he recovers soon.'' Mr Advani, who declined to take any questions on his 'Bharat Suraksha Yatra', however, said he was leaving for Raipur.

Earlier, the former Deputy Prime Minister had cut short his yatra and rushed to Mumbai to know about the condition of Mr Mahajan.

Mr Mahajan was shot at by his younger brother Pravin this morning over some family dispute.
