Insult, neglect and inferiority complex motivated crime: Roy

Mumbai, Apr 22 (UNI) Ruling out property dispute as cause of murderous attempt on the life of senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan here today, Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy attributed the crime to what accused Pravin Mahajan confessed as '' insult, neglect and inferiority complex''.

''There is no reason to believe that he (Pravin) is of unstable mind ... his behaviour seemed normal and he appeared to be of sound mind when he surrendered to the police,'' Mr Roy told mediapersons when asked to comment on the statement of lawyer of the accused who said Pravin is of instable mind.

The Police Commissioner said the accused, a brother of the victim, soon after surrendering at the Worli police station told officers he had commited the crime because of he felt '' insulted, neglected and suffered from inferiority complex.'' Mr Roy said the accused also handed over his .32 mm calibre Belgian Browning firearm while surrendering himself to the police.
