IGNOU opens admission for Nautical Science course

New Delhi, Apr 22 (UNI) Distance education pioneer IGNOU has invited applications for its diploma course in nautical science aimed at orienting future cadets for life at the sea.

The course, which leads to a Bachelor's Degree in Nautical Science, is conducted in collaboration with the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai.

The course, which is offered through select training institutes approved by the Directorate General of Shipping and IGNOU, has a vocational training programme with a strong emphasis on marine subjects, practical application and correct attitude, said IGNOU spokesman Ravi Mohan.

The prospectus and application form is available at the IGNOU headquarters here or its regional centres on weekdays by paying Rs 50. For getting it by post, a demand draft for Rs 100 in favour of IGNOU is to be sent to the Programme Coordinator (IGNOU) DGS Project, SOET, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110 068.

The forms can also be downloaded from the university website (www.ignou.ac.in).

The filled-in forms, with a demand draft for Rs 500 (Rs 550 for downloaded form), has to reach the Registrar (SRED), IGNOU, New Delhi 110 068.
