Identification parade held in Pushkar rape case

Ajmer, Apr 22 (UNI) The accused in the Japanese tourist rape case in the holy town of Pushkar, were paraded before the victim for identification here today.

After the identification parade, the main accused Babloo along with four others were sent to police remand for two days.

Ajmer jail superintendent Pritha Bhargav said Babloo along with mother Roshni, brother Raju, and friends Sanjay and Shahid were paraded before the Japanese victim in the morning.

Shahid , who was absconding was arrested in Manali and was brought here last evening, and was sent to jail.

The identification parade was held before Judicial Magistrate Kailashchand Attwasia. The accused were then sent to police remand for further questioning after the magistrate admitted the appeal for sending them to police remand instead of the judicial remand till April 24.

The Japanese woman has charged Babloo with rape and duping her of Rs 54,000 which he promised to keep in the safe custody of his mother.

The incident is supposed to have occured on April 2 at Quiet Guest House, when Babloo made her drink curd syrup (lassi) mixed with an intoxicant after which she fainted.

Babloo is supposed to have raped her then had been doing so in the past few days.

The victim somehow managed to escaped to Agra from where she faxed a message to police in Pushkar on April 18, recording her complaints.
