GIL registers 58 pc rise in net profit

Mumbai, Apr 22 (UNI) Granules India Limited (GIL) has registered a sharp rise of 58 per cent in its net profit at Rs 2.79-crore in Q3 FY 06 as against Rs 1.77-crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, while its sales for the period also rose 15 per cent to Rs 44.88-crore as against Rs 39.04-crore in the corresponding period last year.

A release issued here stated that for the nine-month period ended March this year, GIL's sales increased by 31 per cent to Rs 132.59-crore, while its net profit also climbed by 49 per cent to Rs 7-crore.

GIL Managing Director Krishna Prasad said, ''Our focus on expanding capacities and targeting regulated markets should give us a stable growth and we will be targeting new customers in the regulated markets of the US and Europe.'' UNI JJ KU AW1255
