G7 singles out China in communique
WASHINGTON, Apr 22: In a communique issued after an afternoon meeting top finance officials from the Group of Seven rich countries singled out China as a country that needs to pursue more exchange rate flexibility.
''Greater exchange rate flexibility is desirable in emerging economies with large current account surpluses, especially China, for necessary adjustments to occur,'' the communique from finance ministers and central bankers from the United States, Japan, Canada, Germany, France, Italy and Britain said yesterday.
