30 injured as building collapses

Imphal, Apr 22: At least four workers were feared killed and 30 injured when a three-storied building during demolition drive, collapsed at Singjamei market near here today.

Rescuers so far evacuated fifteen injured from the debris and shited them to a local hospital.

Police, Army, Assam Rifles, fire brigade and local people were involved in rescue and evacuation to the injured.

The accident occurred around 7 am when about 50 people were demolishing the building to widen the National Highway 39.
