Four dead, 30 injured as building collapses

Imphal, Apr 22 (UNI) At least four workers were killed and 30 injured when a three-storied building collapsed during a demolition drive at Singjamei market here today.

Official sources said so far fifteen people have been rescued and shifted them to a local hospital.

The incident occurred this morning when around 50 people were demolishing the building following the state government's decision to widen the national Highway Highway 39.

Around 40 workers were working on the ground floor when the building collapsed, the sources said.

Senior officials including the DGP, Imphal West DC have rushed to the spot.

Rescue operations was in full swing they said. However, they could not provide details of the casualty.
