Dozens injured in protest;protest continues despite curfew and rain

Kathmandu, Apr 22 (UNI) More than 10 protestors were injured when police fired at them at different places in Kathmandu today.

According to a local radio, more than 10 people were injured when police fired rubber bullets in Tripureswore, Dilli Bazar, Koteswore and Chabahil to stop tens of thousands of demonstrators who were trying to move towards city centre to pay tributes to the people killed during the on-going pro-democracy movement.

Despite curfew and rain , over 200,000 anti-king demonstrators are marching towards the city centre from various parts of the Kathmandu valley.

According to Sagarmatha FM , at least ten people were injured at Tripureswore when security personnel opened fire to stop the crowd from moving towards Tundikhel. About 50 people from Patan were coming to the city center shouting anti-king slogans and warning leaders not to make any compromise with the king.

About a lakh people marched from Ring road through Baneshwar to reach the city center, about 800 meter from the Royal palace.

Thousands of people from Gongabu shouting king's offer as a sham, are marching towards inner city areas. The protestors burnt tyres, fell woodlogs on the road bringing the traffic to a complete standstill.
