Cong demands govt's dismissal over model code violation
Bhopal, Apr 22 (UNI) Accusing the BJP of violating the model code of conduct, the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee today submitted a memorandum to the Governor Balram Jakhar demanding dismissal of the state government.
Congress General Secretary Manak Agrawal told reporters here that the memorandum stated that the Election Commission had postponed the Budhni bypoll from April 24 to May 3 because of the violation.
Mr Agrawal said it was probably for the first time in the history of the state that the model code had been grossly violated in a constituency, where the Chief Minister was a candidate.
Reiterating the demand for the CM's resignation on moral grounds, he alleged that the BJP had spent over Rs one crore on campaigning in Budhni.
