Collector holds 'Palle Raatri" in AP
Vijayawada, Apr 22 (UNI) In a first-of-its-kind in Krishna district, Collector Navin Mittal and senior officials stayed overnight at Burugugudem Village last night as part of the 'Palle Raatri' (night in the village) programme aimed at reviewing developmental projects.
Earlier, Mr Mittal held a review meeting with officials at the Chatrai Mandal Headquarters.
He reviewed the welfare programmes besides collecting first-hand information about the problems faced by the people in the mandal.
Mr Mittal later visited Burugugudem and interacted with women and farmers. He held a grama sabha with village elders, self-help groups, youth and the aged.
He also enquired with the farmers about the availability of water and power for agriculture.
Some small farmers complained about the non-release of loans and and requested the collector to increase the subsidy amount for the housing.
