BJP leader dares Cong to introduce Telangana Bill
Hyderabad, Apr 22 (UNI) BJP Senior Leader and Former Union Minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao today asked the Congress why it was not showing the same interest in getting the Telangana Bill passed in Parliament, as it had shown for getting the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Bill passed.
Talking to newsmen here, Mr Rao challenged the Congress to move the Telangana Bill during ensuing Parliament session in May next, if it had any sincerity in its commitment for the formation of a separate state as was promised during the last elections.
Pooh-poohing the statement of PCC Chief K Keshava Rao he would not believe the assurance given by the BJP top leader L K Advani to support the cause of Telangana state, he said Mr Keshav Rao should understand the Congress did not have majority on its own in Parliament and hence could not get the bill passed on its own strength.
