Attack on Mahajan ''unfortunate'': Deshmukh

Pune, Apr 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has described the attack on BJP leader Pramod Mahajan by his brother as ''unfortunate'' but did not comment further, saying that it was a 'family matter'.

When asked by reporters, after the inauguration of the first national convention of cooperative credit societies at Balewadi, the Chief Minister said, as per his information the BJP leader was ''successfully operated.'' Meanwhile, Minister in the PMO Prithviraj Chauhan said the attack on Mr Mahajan was unfortunate and a ''sad happening.'' ''Even though we belong to different political ideologies, we are friends. I wish him a speedy recovery,'' he said. Mr Chauhan was also here to attend the convention.
