Apang exhorts doctors to be dedicated
Itanagar, Apr 22 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang exhorted medical officers, including doctors, to deliver their services without falling prey to money or political pressure.
The Chief Minister while inaugurating the sixth general conference of the Arunachal Pradesh Doctors' Association (APDA) at Naharlagun yesterday said every initiative should be made to improve the health delivery system, official sources here informed today.
Stating that the conference was the right forum to discuss problems relating to health service, Mr Apang called upon the APDA to discuss posting of doctors at interior places and not to leave even a single health centre without doctors.
''You should motivate your colleagues to go to the interior places'', he said, adding the doctors should ensure balanced posting.
Asking them to have a thorough discussion on how to make medicine available in every corner of the state, Mr Apang suggested that newly posted doctors be given opportunity to serve General Hospital here under the guidance of senior doctors for at least three to six months, which he said, would give them confidence to serve in the remote areas.
