Another veterinary doctor suffering from bird flu
Akola, Apr 22 (UNI) With another veterinary doctor-- suffering from suspected bird flu and being treated at the Amravati Amravati Hospital, the Maharashtra State Animal Husbandry Gazetted Officers Association has warned that their officers would no longer participate in bird flu control programme.
Dr R R Isar was working in the control of bird flue in Jalgaon district since its outbreak recently.
Condoling the death of Dr Abdul Kalim Khan, Animal Husbandary Officer Association president Dr Bedkonikar alleged that the officer's death was the result of sheer negligence on the part of the state government and demanded that his family be given a compensation of Rs 25 lakh.
Tami flu tablets were given to the doctors who were in involved in the culling of birds in the affected areas.
Dr Suresh Dhotre, the Deputy Director of Health Services, and Dr Arun Thosar, the district civil surgeon, claimed that the death of Dr Khan was not due to bird flu.
However, the vicera and blood sample of Dr Khan have been sent to National Institute of Virology for knowing the exact reason of death, they added.
The experts from Pune and New Delhi have arrived here and were discussing the stategy of treament following the death of Dr Khan, official sources said.
