Union Govt sanctions Rs 4 cr for Wide Area Network
Chandigarh, Apr 21 (UNI) The Central government has sanctioned an amount of Rs four crore for setting up a Wide Area Network for the entire union territory of Chandigarh.
The UT Administration will budget an amount of Rs three crore additionally for the project in the next five years, a statement said here today.
The project would provide the UT Administration and other government agencies with enterprise-wide, intra-state network services and for giving shape to Chandigarh Administration's vision to improve services to its citizens through efficient and transparent administration.
This infrastructure would be in place for catalysing IT development, reaching the unreached through effective implementation of ICT, supporting IT solutions and bringing governance closer to public, bridging the digital divide by implementing state-of-the-art citizen-centric applications.
