Govt cancelled leave of health staff

Agartala, Apr 21: The Tripura government has taken all precautionary measures and cancelled leave of all field staff of the health department following outbreak of Malaria in neighbouring Assam where several people died, official sources said here today.

Health department workers are spraying DDT in the bordering areas and collecting blood samples after getting reports of fever.

All the North Eastern states, including Tripura, have been identified as malaria prone area and the state government has taken all possible measures to prevent the disease which claimed two lives, one each in North and South Tripura districts, respectively.
