TDP wants emergent session

Hyderabad, Apr 21 (UNI) The opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy and Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to convene of an emergent session of the State Assembly to discuss the alleged ''foisting'' of cases on party legislators for what they spoke house.

TDP legislators, including party Legislature Party Secretary E Dayakar Rao, in a statement here, demanded that the session be convened to discuss the ''extraordinary situation arising out of the executive's interference in the affairs, freedom and privilege of the legislature and to protect the sovereignty of the august House.'' They claimed that the Government had ''foisted'' criminal cases on party legislators allegedly in violation of Constitutional provisions in Articles 105 and 194.

Urging the Chief Minister to hold moral responsibility for the alleged ''mistake'' committed by the Government on the issue, they maintained that if the session was convened, it would become clear who had forged the papers in connection with the Sripadasagar Project.
