Lucknow, Apr 21 (UNI) The BJP today slammed the UPA government at Centre and Samajwadi Party regime in Uttar Pradesh for poor governance.

Talking to reporters here, party president Rajnath Singh said the central and UP governments had failed on all fronts and shattered the expectations of common man.

Targetting the Mulayam Singh Yadav government in UP, he said the government had no public face. ''It is a faceless administration which is insensitive to the plight of the commoner.'' He claimed the Meerut inferno, which claimed scores of lives had proved the government was not sensitive towards the people's needs.

''Moreover, there is nothing like law and order. No steps have been taken to address the problem despite demand from various quarters.

In fact, people who break law and order have the protection of the ruling party,'' he alleged.

Noting the CM ppromised to provide power at the rate of Rs 2 per unit, Mr Singh sought to know the status of this commitment, adding another promise to have more power stations in the state has also not materialised.

He also charged the ruling coalition with misusing public exchequer by spending money on a ''few villages only,'' in a reference to Saifai, the home village of the chief minister.

Slamming the Mayawati-led BSP, he said although the BJP had thrice formed a coalition government with her, it would not repeat the same mistake again. ''Let anyone extend support to us...we will not support anyone,'' he added.
