Plea against construction near KBR Park, Hyderabad

New Delhi,Apr 21(UNI) Noted economist Pentapati Pullarao has urged the Prime Minister to stop construction of a five star hotel and shopping complex next to the famous KBR Sanctuary at Hyderabad.

This 500 acre-sanctuary land was taken from the Hyderabad Nizam and converted to a game sanctuary, Dr Pullarao pointed out in his memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister.

The KBR Wildlife Sanctuary is perhaps the most unique park and sanctuary of its kind in the world and,therefore,it should be protected from all such constructions and encroachments,he said.

Dr Pullarao has also submitted a memorandum to the Minister of Environment and Forests and sought direction to the State Government to withdraw the permission given to a private banking group for the construction as it would destroy the oxygen bank of the city and would violate all environment laws.
