PDP has done justice to all regions of J

Sangrama, Baramulla, Apr 21 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti today said her party had done justice to all regions of the state during its rule in the form of balanced development and transparent governance with responsive attitude irrespective of political considerations.

She also sought the support of the people in favour of her party candidates in the April 24 by-elections on the basis of the PDP-led coalition government's performance during the past three years.

Addressing a number of election meetings in this constituency, Ms Mufti asserted that the people's support was imperative to carry forward the PDP's mission of achieving the ultimate goal of long lasting and dignified peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

She highlighted the steps taken by the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed government for overall development of the state.

The PDP President spelt out the economic agenda of her party.

''Our party is the first to have demanded a compensatory mechanism as the state has been deprived of its major resources due to the Indus Water Treaty. The party will project it as a major area of concern and demand a compensatory mechanism,'' she added. Ms Mufti said exploration, formulation and reconstruction efforts made by the coalition government for mega and mini hydel projects need to be carried forward with speed and in a time-bound manner.
