OIA minister Vayalar Ravi to visit Gulf countries

New Delhi, Apr 21: Overseas Indian Affairs (OIA) Minister Vayalar Ravi will visit the Gulf countries from May 3-9.

Mr Ravi will begin his week-long tour from Bahrain where he would discuss the issues connected with the recent boat tragedy with the concerned authorities. He is also scheduled to meet the Indian community there.

He would be in the United Arab Emirates for three days from May 4.

He would attend a series of programmes in Dubai during May 4-5 and Abu Dhabi on May 6.

Mr Ravi would be in Jeddah on May 7 and in Riyadh for two days from May 8.

He would return to Delhi on May 10. Mr Ravi was proposed to visit the Gulf countries last month. But he had cancelled his trip to all the Gulf countries except Qatar as per the advice of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh because of the Parliament being in session.
