Ranchi, Apr 21 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minister Raghubansh Singh today said state governments would not face dearth of funds for implementation of centrally sponsored schemes for development of rural population.

After reviewing the progress of implementation of various rural schemes in Jharkhand at a meeting here, Mr Singh told newsmen that if the funds alloted by the Centre were spent properly and poor people were benefited then if required the Centre would provide more funds to the state government.

No scheme would be allowed to remain unimplemented for dearth of funds, he said.

He, however, expressed dissatisfaction over some state governments for failute to spend the money alloted for rural development schemes.

Replying to a question, the Union Minister said he was satisfied with the Jharkhand government over the implementation of these schemes. The Employment Gurantee Scheme was also being implemented nicely, he said.

He suggested that in Jharkhand each village should have at least two ponds to solve the water problem and land problems of adivasis should be solved to stop the migration of labourers from the villages to other states.

Mr Singh said the Jharkhand government has failed to spend Rs 720 crores alloted under the Prime Minister's Rural Road Scheme. The government should take notice of it, he said.
