Nahur suburban station opens for public
Mumbai, Apr 21 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Railways Naranbhai Rathwa today inaugurated the Nahur suburban station, built between Bhandup and Mulund stations of Central Railway in Eastern suburbs.
He flagged-off the first local train from the station at 1235 hrs.
Mr Rathwa said the new station is expected to benefit more than 45,000 passengers daily.
In all, 370 trains services will have a halt at this slow-line station. All down and up slow locals (except those starting and terminating at Thane railway station) will halt at Nahur station.
The Minister also inaugurated the booking window of the new station and unveiled the plaque as a token.
The new suburban station has a 3.66 meter wide foot overbridge connecting the platform to the East and West sides, with an overhead booking office.
With this new station, Central Railway suburban system now has 73 stations.
