MLA urges Lt Gov to withhold reconstitution of college bodies
New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) BJP MLA Vijay Jolly today urged Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi to withhold reconstitution of college governing bodies in the national capital as his petition before the President regarding office of profit was pending.
In a letter to Mr Joshi, Mr Jolly said during 2003-04 and 2004-05, Congress MLAs were nominated as chairmen of various colleges under the Delhi Government.
They hold office of profits in their present capacities while managing the day-to-day college affairs.
''I had filed a petition with the President seeking disqualification of 19 Congress MLAs and one MP of Delhi for holding office of profit,'' he said.
Mr Jolly also requested the Lt Governor to look into the matter and seek legal opinion.
