Metal prices falls on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, Apr 21 (UNI) Metal prices today declined on poor industrial demand along with London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the metal exchange here said.

In ferrous section, copper heavy prices fell by Rs 300 per quintal while rates of copper utensils, brass utensils and brass cuttings eased by Rs 500 each per quintal, as traders were keen to sell their stocks.

In non-ferrous section, the rates of copper wire bars, zinc slab and lead ingots drifted lower by Rs 200, Rs 100 and Rs 50 per quintal respectively, on increase offers bys tockists.

The prices of nickel cathode went up by Rs three per kg, on fresh buying upport.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy- Rs 34,700, copper utensils- Rs 31,500, brass utensils- Rs 23,000, brass cuttings- Rs 24,500 and aluminium utensils- Rs 10,500.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars- Rs 37,000, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,200, zinc slab- Rs 17,900, lead ingots- Rs 6,650, Tin slab- Rs 520 (per kg) and nickel cathode- Rs 945 (per kg).
