Maoists blow up minister's house

Daltanganj, Apr 21 (UNI) Proscribed CPI (Maoist) extremists blew up Jharkhand Water Resource minister Kamlesh Singh's house in Kachara-Kangarpur village in Palamu district late last night, police said today.

No one was injured in the explosion.

At about 2200 hrs, the extremists surrounded the village and asked the people to switch off their mobiles and disconnect all telephones. They then gheraoed the minister's house, and blew it up by blasting dynamite, police said.

Senior police officials, with additional forces, arrived at the spot early today and launched a combing operation in the area.
