Mah Council bids farewell to six retiring members

Mumbai, Apr 21 (UNI) Cutting across party lines members from both the sides paid farewell to six members of the Maharashtra Legislative Council who are retiring on May 31 and June 21.

The six members who are retiring include Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's younger brother Dilip Deshmukh, Ramdas Tadas, Suresh Deshmukh (Congress) and Dr Vasant Pawar(NCP). The other two members Cnant Tare (Sena) and former minister Jagdish Gupta (BJP) are retiring on May 31.

The motion to give farewell to the members was tabled by deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and was supported by leader of the opposition Pandurang Phundkar. Other speakers who expressed their views included Pramod Navalkar, Madhukarrao sarpotdar (sena) (Jayant Patil (PWP).
