Amritsar, Apr 21 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Sri Prakash Jaiswal today said the Centre has asked concerned state governments to furnish it the list of Pakistani and other prisoners who have completed their sentence and are still languishing in Indian jails.

Mr Jaiswal, who was here in connection with the Sixth National Children fair held under the National Youth Project of the Central Government, told newsmen that narcotics trade from across the border has come down in the wake of border fencing in Punjab. He had directed the border security officials to increase the vigil along the border and the Central government was ready to provide all infrastructure for it.

Mr Jaiswal said there was no immediate need of opening visa centre at Amritsar.

In reply to a question, the Minister asserted that restoration of democracy was essential for normalisation of situation and the return of peace in troubled Nepal.

He said there could be no permanent peace in the Himalayan Kingdom unless efforts were made for restoration of democracy.
