Landlords in 113 areas asked to furnish details of tenants to police
New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) Landlords of properties in 113 areas in nine police districts in the capital have been asked to furnish details of their tenants from April 27, for a period of 60 days, to the police.
An order in this regard was issued by Police Commissioner K K Paul today.
The order has also directed that all persons who intend to take accommodation on rent shall inform in writing in this regard to the Sattion House officer of the area in which the premises fall.
The persons dealing in property business should also inform in writing to the SHO concerned of the area about the particulars of the said tenants, the order said.
Any person contravening the order would be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal code.
The order has been issued in view of apprehensions that terrorists or anti-social elements may seek hideouts in the residential areas of the said police stations.
