Jaya to hold talks with Kerala on project if voted to power
Coimbatore, Apr 21 (UNI) AIADMK General Secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today said if the party was voted to power, she will hold talks with the Kerala Government on the implementation of Annamalaiyar-Nallaru Scheme to expand the irrigated area under the Parambikulam-Aliyar Project.
Addressing a campaign meeting at Udumalaipet here last night, she said the project will benefit Erode and Coimbatore Districts after it was implemented.
She also explained various efforts taken by her government to put the state back on the path of growth and development.
When she assumed office, Tamil Nadu was debt-ridden and was reeling under drought for three successive years.
Later, the state had to tackle floods which wreaked havoc and brought misery to the lives of the people.
All these challenges were successfully met by her government without the help of the Union Ministers from the state.
She highlighted the issuing of identity cards to farmers under 'Uzhavar Paathukappu Thittam' and providing cycles to school children among her achievements.
