Japanese-affiliated Malaysian companies keen to invest in Haryana

New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) A 12-member high level business delegation of Japanese-affiliated companies in Malaysia has evinced keen interest in the manufacturing sectors like automobile, food processing and infrastructure projects to be set up in Haryana.

The business delegation led by Mr Tsuneo Tanaka, Chairman and Advisor of the Japanese Chamber of Trade and Industries, Malayasia (JACTIM) met Mr Ashok Lavasa, Resident Commissioner cum Chief Coordinator of Investment Promotion Centre, Haryana, here yesterday.

The delegation is in India to explore possibilities of investment in India and is scouring for alternate locations for their ventures.

The delegation comprised of senior executives of TORAY Industries, MIKURO METAL, SDN BHD, NEC Semi-conductors, MIPOX, PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS, apart from diplomats from the Embassy of Japan in Malayasia and representatives of JETRO.

Haryana Investment Promotion Centre made a presentation before the delegation on the Industrial Policy and Investment-friendly environment in the state. The delegates made detailed inquiries about Haryana's industrial policy, labour laws, minimum wages and the procedure for incorporating companies.

Mr Lavasa apprised the delegation about the time-bound clearances as per the Industrial Promotion Act 2005 in Haryana. He assured them full support on behalf of Haryana Government, which has succeeded in attracting about 50 units from Japan with an overall investment of about Rs 3000 crore, especially after the visit of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to Japan in December last year.

The visit has been followed by a steady stream of interested companies wanting to locate their units in Haryana. A delegation of more than 70 delegates had also invited the State Government to make a presentation last week when they visited the national capital. UNI BBS RA RS1527
