Industry peace must for development, says HP CM
Shimla, Apr 21 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today stressed the need for industrial peace and said this would help in attracting more business houses to open their units in the state.
Inaugurating the two-day 264th National Working Committee Meeting of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) here, he said better coordination between the employer and the workers would help in meeting the global standard quality production challenges successfully.
Mr Singh said industrial workers were the backbone of the economy of any country and were responsible for maintaining its growth rate.
In this age of competition the quality products had a chance of surviving and that was possible only when there was industrial friendly environment in the state, he said.
The chief minister said the state had attracted an investment of about Rs 17,000 crores during last three years had a potential to provide employment to about 2.40 lakh workers.
Lauding the INTUC for maintaining industrial peace in the state, he said its contribution in maintaining industrial deserved all appreciation.
