Indian Mangoes could be in the US by next summer
Washington, Apr 21: Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Richard Boucher has said the Indian mangoes would soon be available in the US markets.
The US Department of Agriculture is working on the details of certain guidelines for import of the fruit, he informed.
''I certainly hope we will move expeditiously on this the mango question'' he said replying to questions on the subject here yesterday. ''It does take a certain lot of technology and regulations to be determined before import licenses are given. So this cannot be done right away, perhaps we will have to wait till the next season to enjoy the mangoes,'' he added.
