Goa BJP to sumbit signature rep to PM on Mopa airport

Panaji, Apr 21 (UNI) The Goa unit of the Bharatiya Janata party( BJP) will submit a one lakh signature represenation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in support of proposed international airport project at Mopa in Pernem taluka.

Speaking to media persons here today, BJP state unit president Rajendra Arlekar and spokesperson Lakshimikant Parsekar said the BJP will launch a week-long awareness campaign across Goa led by North Goa MP Shripad Naik. The party will organise public meetings in the 190 panchayats and 13 municipalities from May 3 to 10 to explain to the people of the benefits an airport at Mopa.

Mr Parsekar said, ''we are not against Dabolim airport but proposed international Mopa airport project must be built.'' ''Similary, a motorcycle rally week will also be organised from May 10 from Mopa to Canacona. Pamphlets in support of the airport project will be distributed and posters will be displayed in the rally".
