Garry and Ikttesh bag a double each in Dehra Dun

Chandigarh, Apr 21 (UNI) Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association trainees Garry Singh Amor and Ikttesh Chahal, claimed a double each by winning singles and doubles titles in the boys and girls categories, respectively, in the AITA-Dellta Talent Series Tennis Tournament.

A student of VIIIth standard in John's School, Garry defeated Anurag Sharma of Uttar Pradesh 6-0, 7-6 (2) in the boys Under-14 singles final yesterday, the concluding day of the tourney, in Dehra Dun.

In the doubles final he, paring with Sonam Phuntsok, also of Chandigarh, defeated Maninder Singh and Brahamjot Singh of Delhi 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Garry has been training at the Harvest Tennis Academy in village Jassowal (Kular) near Ludhiana.

On the other hand, Ikttesh Chahal won the girls Under-14 singles and doubles titles. In singles final, she defeated Baljinder Kaur of Delhi 6-0, 6-2.

Then in the doubles she paired with Baljinder Kaur to defeat Samia Rizvi (UP) and Parminder Kaur (Chd) 6-0, 6-2.

Ikttesh Chahal is a student of Class VIII of Carmel Convent School.
