Employees strike affects work in govt offices

Imphal, Apr 21 (UNI) Work in government offices in Manipur remained affected for the second day today due to indefinite cease work by a large number of employees.

The Joint Administrative Council of All Manipur Trade Unions Council and All Manipur Government Employees organisation started the strike yesterday.

The employees demanded increase in DA, rectification of pay anomaly, regularisation of adhoc employees, revival of die-in-harness scheme and extension of retirement age from 58 to 60.

The employees attended office today but stayed away from work.

However, essential services and work at the secretariat were not affected.

The JAC has appealed to the employees to continue the cease work in a peaceful manner.
