Accused in Pushkar rape case sent to judicial custody

Ajmer, Apr 21 (UNI) The main accused in the Japanese tourist rape case along with four others were sent to judicial custody till April 24 by a court in Pushkar today.

Babloo, the hotel manager accused of rape, along with his mother Roshni, brother Raju and another youth Sanjay who are alleged to have helped him, were produced before Judicial Magistrate Kishanlal Choudhary today. Shahid, the other accused in the case, is absconding.

The police said the accused have been sent to judicial custody till April 24 as they will be paraded before the woman for identification.

The woman has charged Babloo with rape and duping her of Rs 54,000 which Babloo promised to keep in the safe custody of his mother. The incident is supposed to have occured on April 2 at a Guest House, when Babloo made her drink lassi mixed with an intoxicant after which she fainted. Babloo is supposed to have raped her then.

She somehow managed to escaped to Agra from where she faxed a message to police in Pushkar on April 18, recording her complaints.

The woman's medical examination was held yesterday after a police team brought her here from agra.

According to sources, Babloo's family which runs the guest house, has a criminal background as his father, Munnalal is serving a life sentence for being involved in Pushkar's infamous Ratangiri murder case. Munnalal is currently out on a 20 day parole.

Cases against Babloo's mother and brother are also lodged at the police station while there are complaints of eve-teasing against Babloo.
