Tis Hazari lawyers end 4-month-old strike
New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) Lawyers at Tis Hazari courts today decided to end their about four-month-long strike and 'resume' normal work from tomorrow, after assurance that a high-powered committee will be constituted to look into their demand for 're-structuring judicial set-up in the city.
The lawyers decided to end the strike led by Delhi Bar Association after a four-member committee nominated by them, informed that it had been assured by Delhi High Court that a high-powered committee will be formed to look into the demand.
The strike had initially started as a reaction to splitting of the Tis Hazari lower court and setting up of separate courts for West Delhi at Rohini, and alleged lack of facilities there.
The four-member committee comprised P H Parikh, A M Singhvi, M N Krishnamani and Ramesh Gupta.
