Shift Kashir Channel to Srinagar: Kashmiri freelance producers

Srinagar, Apr 20 (UNI) Kashmiri freelance producers, directors and writers have demanded a CBI probe into the multi-crore scam of commissioning of programmes in Kashir Channel and urged the government to shift the channel from New Delhi to Srinagar.

Addressing a news conference here, they also sought reshuffle of all the officials of Kashir Channel and Doordarshan Kendra, Srinagar.

They demanded the present system of commissioning of programmes in Kashir Channel be quashed as a multi-crore scam had been detected.

The matter should be probed by the Central Bureau of Investivation (CBI) or by the Vigilance Commission, they said.

Their other demands included Kashmiri directors, cinematographers, writers and music directors be given weightage based on their experience, distribution of marks before submission of proposals be shown in the guidelines and all those producers who have submitted their proposals and the presentation be accommodated.
