RIL has record turnover of Rs 2,060.20 crore on BSE/NSE

Mumbai, Apr 20 (UNI) Reliance Industries Ltd.(RIL) today made a record combined turnover of Rs 2,060.20 crore on the Bombay and National Stock Exchanges(BSE/NSE) with 2.12 crore shares being exchanged.

On the BSE Reliance had a turnover of Rs 614.19 crore with 63 lakh plus shares traded whereas on the NSE the scrip had a turnover of Rs 1,446.01 crore from 1.49 crore shares traded.

Also the Reliance scrip came close to Rs 1,000 mark touching a high of Rs 999.95 on the BSE and played a key role in the BSE Sensitive Index reaching 12,000 mark.

Reliance finally closed at an all time high of Rs 994.90 with 8.04 per cent gain.

On the NSE it closed at Rs 992.55 with a gain of 7.68 per cent.

There were too many factors leading to phenomenal rise in Reliance scrip today, said an analyst.

The news of the huge oil reserve discovered by the company reported in today's newspapers boosted investors sentiment.

The market regulator SEBI today approved US based oil giant Chevron as co-promoter in Reliance Petroleum Ltd.(RPL), a Reliance subsidiary involved in setting up an export oriented refinery in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Reliance today got the Government's approval for Jamnagar project as a Special Economic Zone(SEZ).

Reliance scrip was on fire, riding the huge response to RPL's initial public offer(IPO) which has been subscribed 47 times making it the biggest collection of IPO money ever in India.
