Govt playing vote bank politics on reservation issue: BJP

New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) The BJP today charged the government with playing vote bank politics by discussing the issue of reservation just before assembly polls in five states without making any formal announcement on the matter.

BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said in a briefing here that his party would react to the issue of reservation only after the government makes a final announcement. He said that under a well planned political strategy, the information regarding reservation issue was ''leaked so as to create confusion and unnecessary debate.'' He said that if the government was so concerned about reservation, why it did not provide reservation to OBCs in minority educational institutions despite Parliament passing a legislation in this regard.
