CM rules out mid term polls in Himachal

Una, Apr 20 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbahdra Singh today ridiculed the BJP for suggesting mid-term polls in the state, saying it was nothing more than a mis-information campaign.

Presiding over a public meeting at Nangal Kalan village in Santoshgarh constituency here, he questioned the basis of such ''misguiding and mis-information'' campaign by the opposition.

Mr Singh said the hydel potential of the state was being tapped to its potential for improving the financial health of the state.

The state government would generate 35,000 jobs in the government and private sector during the next two years.

He also announced the opening of a new sub-employment exchange at Tahliwala industrial area in Santoshgarh constituency.

Earlier, Mr Singh laid the foundation stone of the police building at Santoshgarh that would be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 60 lakh, besides laying the foundation stone of the civil hospital building at Haroli.

Industry Minister Kuldip Kumar, MLAs Mukesh Agnihotri and Rakesh Kalia, former MLAs Manjit Dogra and OP Rattan, Zila Parishad President Parveen Sahota and district Congress president Ranbir Rana were also present on the occasion.
